Magazine production within the group is the domain of Toppan Leefung (Hong Kong) Limited from its facility in Shekou, southern China, Shanghai and Beijing. Renowned for its outstanding printing quality and its sophisticated colour separation techniques, Toppan Leefung (Hong Kong) specializes in the high-quality commercial printing and colour magazine production from these plants.

Toppan Leefung (Hong Kong) was the first printer in China to employ heat-set rotary web offset press technology which it undertook specifically to upgrade its magazine production capabilities. Full electronic pre-press and computer-to-plate systems are used and a full-suite of binding techniques and finishing procedures are also offered.

Leading Chinese and foreign publishers make up the firm’s client list including Shanghai People’s Fine Arts, the Hachette Filipacchi Medias Group and Trend Magazines, to name a few. The product portfolio includes high-end, glossy magazines covering such themes as sports, nature, automobiles, fashion, leisure, architecture and photography. The Chinese versions of well-known titles such as Elle, Beijing Today, Marie Claire, Esquire and Madame Figaro are amongst those produced in Shekou, Shanghai and Beijing.

The company’s superior quality levels and sophisticated techniques have led to requests for production of high-end promotional materials, especially by the government. This resulted in special work for the 2008 Olympic Games and for the World EXPO 2010.
